A Thank You to Volunteers!

In March, we welcomed incredible volunteers from across Culture Leicestershire for our annual Volunteer Sharing Day – this time hosted at the University of Leicester Botanic Gardens!

It was a wonderful celebration of community, curiosity, and creativity, with delicious food, inspiring speeches, and sharing stations from our teams across Culture Leicestershire. These included the 1620s House and Gardens, Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, Harborough and Melton Research volunteering, Leicestershire Museum Collections, Home Library Service, ‘Culture to You’, and our ‘Villiers Revealed’ project.

Volunteers also enjoyed Botanic Garden tours delivered by the Friends of Leicester Botanic Gardens, thoughtful creative activities with the ‘Culture to You’ team, and brilliant ‘Dress the Knight’ workshops led by our award winning expert, Richard Knox!

A big thank you to artist Katy Dynes for beautifully capturing joyous illustrated versions of volunteers for our future banner, and to our amazing staff team for making it all possible. And of course, the biggest thank you goes to our fantastic volunteers, who are the beating heart of Culture Leicestershire. We hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating!
