Workshops

Our workshops kicked off with Year 3 on one of the hottest days of the year. They showed amazing imagination and flare in designing characters and worlds, using monster dice to spark imagination and special pens to bring colour to their characters. Everything was included; dragon pits, princesses, holes that can eat you and even a world religion!

The next week Year 5 joined us and painted the boards that will be used. They followed designs from Year 3 and their painting was transposed onto the pegboard our artist, Amanda. They had a great time selecting colours and bringing the worlds to life as well as having a go at detailed painting.

All our workshops were ably supported by the library’s volunteers who run regular children’s activities and brought a wealth of skills and expertise. They supported the children, made them welcome and kept them cool with well directed fans!

We were so impressed with all the children who participated, they were all a credit to their school, families and community. They exceeded our expectations in their imaginations and the library team can’t wait to host more school visits and activities.
