Volunteering

Over 500 fantastic volunteers support our Heritage Team, Market Town Museums, Collections, Record Office, and Libraries…

Our roles are diverse and unique and range from House Interpreters, where volunteers (sometimes dressed up in period costume) give guided tours of the 1620s House and Gardens, to Archaeology Volunteers documenting and taking high quality photographs of the collections. Alongside our traditional volunteers many of our Community Curator projects have a volunteering element where local people take the lead designing and co-creating exhibitions and events in local museums. We are also delighted to support constituted groups of volunteers who are affiliated to our services such as Loughborough Library Local Studies volunteers (LLLSV) and Leicestershire Shared Reading Groups.
