Creative Expressions in Libraries: Loughborough Library Teen Mural

Following our hugely successful Eye-Spy Wall Art Mural in the children’s library, we decided that our teen and young adult users also deserved a fresh look!
Led by the marvellous Creative Practitioners Paper Rhino, we worked with a group of wonderfully imaginative and talented young people from Woodbrook Vale School to create something unique that has enhanced the space and will hopefully encourage new visitors to the area.
The Teen area was then finished off with two fantastic pillar designs, once again co-designed and co-installed by the group alongside the brilliantly supportive Amanda and Jason from Paper Rhino. The young people said at the beginning of the project that they really wanted to give the area a proper identity, and we think that they have definitely achieved this aim!
In their own words:
13 year old girl: ‘I was surprised that we could so such a project in the library at my age, and I do want to do something like this (art and design) when I am older now.’
14 year old boy: ‘I feel like everyone got a say in it and that is my favourite part.’
