Welcome to Youth in the Making – a new space for young people to discover how you can get involved in art, culture and heritage across Leicestershire.

There is already a lot happening. Young people are volunteering, gaining work experience, taking part in university placements, creating projects, developing new skills and helping shape what happens in our libraries, museums and heritage sites. In 2024-2025, more than 2800 young people took part in Culture Leicestershire programmes designed to make culture more relevant and accessible to you.

But we don’t want to stop there. This year staff across Culture Leicestershire have come together to make pledges towards our joint mission – to provide more opportunities, activities and spaces for young people. Youth in the Making is part of that mission.

Whether you’re looking for work experience, want to try something creative, wish to volunteering, are interested in a cultural career, or simply have an idea you’d like to see happen; there could be something here for you.
