Creative Expressions in Libraries: Ashby Library Children’s Artwork Project

As part of our exciting third year of NPO activity, the Ashby Library Working Group recently came together to brainstorm project ideas for the library. After a very exciting and informative session the group have decided to commission a Creative Practitioner to co-create an artwork for the children’s library.

During our discussions, a large brick wall space in the children’s area was identified as the perfect place to add our artwork. Our aim is twofold – to allow the families co-creating the artwork to feel a sense of ownership of the space, and to make the children’s area more identifiable for first time users of the library.

We will be inviting local families in the area to take part in this co-creation opportunity and are seeking a Creative Practitioner to deliver five engaging workshops with this cohort in order to co-create the artwork.

If you are excited by the idea of this project and have an inspiring idea for the art piece, then please read more in our Ashby Library Children’s Artwork Full Brief
