Leicestershire Libraries Children’s Event Programme 2026
Children’s Events Programming Vision Leicestershire Library is committed to enhancing it’s offer for children and their families. With a wide range of community libraries and diverse audiences, the library service are now looking to widen access to cultural activities and experiences to inspire children with their own creative journey, and build confidence with parents to share and enjoy art and culture activities.
Call for Creative Practitioners
2026 is the National Year of Reading and we are looking for Creative Practitioners to take part in key projects. For the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge we aim to offer 24 Creative Practitioner-led events for children aged 4-12. For our Early Years Festival in November, we aim to offer 8 events for children aged 0-5 and their families. We are looking to recruit multiple Creative Practitioners to deliver a diverse range of activities for our summer and early years programmes.
A key theme for 2026 is music and we are looking for Creative Practitioners to run events which encourage children to explore music, movement, cultural traditions and creative expression. We would like to see sessions that incorporate rhythm, melody, and narrative work to spark imagination and creativity.
