Earthsea Trilogy by Ursula Le Guin

But it is one thing to read about dragons and another to meet them.

‐ Ursula Le Guin, Earthsea

This is. And thou art. There is no safety. There is no end. The word must be heard in silence. There must be darkness to see the stars.

‐ Ursula Le Guin, Earthsea

What is the book about?

The coming of age of a wizard who needs to understand his true self and the nature of his darker side.

What was good about it?

It was easy to read with a great story line. The themes really appealed to me.

What didn’t you like? (if anything)

At times it was almost too simple and the plot lines were obvious.

Did it bring something positive to you?

For example: make you want to find out more; make you think in a different way; help you understand a different point of view; help you reflect on yourself in a different way; provide entertainment or distraction; inspire you to be creative in response

It made me consider my own true self both positive and negative.

Would you recommend it to others? Why?

I would recommend the book/series as it is an ideal gateway into the fantasy genre
