Melton Mowbray Library

Coming soon to Melton Mowbray Library: Creative Practitioners will be working with young people from the area to explore Melton’s local history through art and photography.

We are excited to be appointing a Creative Practitioner to work at Melton Mowbray Library to develop and deliver a cultural project which explores the area’s local history. The project will explore personal heritage, connections and memories linked to Melton Mowbray, through art and photography.  It will utilise the existing local studies collection (which includes books, photographs, newspaper articles etc.) as inspiration. As part of the project the Creative Practitioner will also support participants to co-create a creative outcome that can be utilised and enjoyed by library users. This outcome will include a photography element but will also utilise other creative mediums such as, but not limited to, painting, poetry, textiles etc.  We are working with the Creative Practitioner and the young people to decide the form, from the more traditional book, exhibition or artwork to a more innovative game or digital format.

We are now closed for submissions.

We look forward to sharing some updates with you soon.
