I didn’t create any of the blanket, but I saw it for the first time today, and I loved it! It is incredibly beautiful and it makes me feel so happy and warm as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and as a lover of crafts and creativity! I think it is wonderful to have such an important and meaningful work of art on display at the museum

I was blown away seeing the quilt for the first time. The colours, textures, skill and beauty of the finished quilt is inspiring and reflects the spirit of the community and the Pride movement. April 2026

As Treasurer of Loughborough Pride I was very impressed and very grateful for the community support with the pride blanket and the turnout. For Loughborough Pride we would like to see as much support this year as we had last year and should anyone want to volunteer please don’t hesitate in applying.

Hi, I created the Boy George square. When he appeared in the 80s he started so many positive discussions around gender, sexuality and being yourself. A truly inspirational icon. George- we salute you!

The community blanket is a great example of ‘outreach’ and ‘inclusivity’ an exemplar of how many other Prides across the UK should be working. Something Loughborough can be truly ‘PROUD’ of

Thank you Charnwood Museum and Pippa for hosting the ‘soft’ launch of the 2025 Pride Blanket now woven together and reflecting on lives sometimes lived quietly, or hidden. Well done

The pride blanket follows in a big tradition. In today’s digital world, where text images etc. are transitory- there one minute, gone the next- this blanket is a snapshot in time which can and should be displayed and preserved for future generations to understand life in the 2020s.
